Tesla drivers, get ready — some cool new features are on the horizon, and they’re all about making your driving experience smarter, cheaper, and even a bit more fun.
Thanks to our favorite Tesla software sleuth, @greentheonly, we’ve got an early look at two exciting features coming soon in Tesla’s software update 2025.8.
And while they’re not live just yet, they’ve already been spotted in production code — meaning they could show up in your car any day now.
Let’s break it down.
1. Tire Fill Assist — No More Guessing at the Pump
We’ve all been there — pulling out the air hose, guessing if you’re at the right pressure, running back and forth between the gauge and the valve. That may soon be a thing of the past.
Tesla is preparing to roll out Tire Fill Assist, a clever tool that will make topping off your tires way easier.
Here’s what it might do:
- Use your car’s Bluetooth tire pressure sensors to give live updates while you fill
- Send audible alerts when each tire hits the perfect pressure
- Possibly show real-time numbers on screen or even outside the car (through speakers)
This is a small but super practical feature — and it’s one other automakers have used. But with Tesla’s software magic, expect it to feel polished, helpful, and uniquely Tesla.
2. Route for Less: Smarter Navigation, Cheaper Charging
Another new feature in the works is all about saving you money on the road.
Tesla is adding a “View Lower Cost Charging” option to its navigation system. This feature will:
- Help you avoid expensive Superchargers
- Suggest nearby stations with lower prices, even if they’re slightly out of the way
- Let you choose between speed or savings
Tesla has already tested smarter routing in China (options like “least congested” and “avoid tolls”), and now it looks like that same intelligence is heading to more global markets.
Imagine planning a trip and being shown multiple route options:
One gets you there fastest, another saves you $15 at charging stops.
Now you get to choose what matters more.
And That’s Not All — Visual Upgrades Are Coming Too
Tesla is also upgrading how things look on your screen. Soon, Cybertrucks and trailers will be rendered more accurately in the vehicle visualization system.
This might sound small, but for drivers using FSD or Autopilot, clear visual feedback matters. Instead of every truck looking the same, you’ll see:
- Actual Cybertrucks on-screen
- Trailers displayed properly (instead of as random semis)
Tesla’s slowly improving how it identifies and shows real-world objects — and this is just one step closer to more intelligent and immersive driving visuals.
